The MUST HAVE Secret Ingredient to Generating Clients Online

We didn’t hit the scene as online marketers. For us it was really about building a business from scratch and using online tools (like an email list and social media) as a way to be in touch with people. In a typical business course, you might hear that you have to have X amount of followers and X percent of those followers will buy from you, or to set up a complicated funnel and then forget it and watch the money roll in, or that it’s all a numbers game. But it doesn’t have to be that way.

Here’s the secret sauce for us and maybe for you too! CONNECTION. We are SO committed to serving and really  getting to know our community. We don’t “set it and forget it” just waiting for someone to make a purchase. We are committed to making and impact in the world and in others’ lives. Our commitment to connection is the key to our success.

Now, we aren’t saying that the other method of set it and forget it will never work or that you can’t have a little bit of both. You don’t have to speak to every single client for hours or never use automations or funnels in your business. There is a way to use some automation and still be connected and stay high touch for your clients. Here are our 3 biggest ways to foster true connection:

  1. Get to know who your client is. Write down some details about them. What keeps them up at night? What is the solution you have for them? Start to truly understand them and find out how you can serve them.

  2. Reach out and make personal connections. Connect not to sell, but to create a relationship. Make this switch if you ask yourself how can I generate clients online. Say, how can I generate clients at a party? And think of all the changes you would make! Pretend you are talking to someone like you would at a party and allow your relationship to unfold naturally. Not every single person you connect with will be your ideal client, but you can still make a difference for them.

  3. Be willing to share valuable tips online. When someone is getting great value they are willing to receive and show up. This over time or for some right away will really trust you and then want to work with you. Make it easy for them to be a YES to you.
